The GS Audio Platinum 4000 series evolves with the new MK3 version, which introduces structural updates aimed at improving performance and reliability in high-power car audio applications. Like the previous MK2 version, the MK3 also features a concave carbon dust cap, a technical solution that offers several advantages:
More efficient cooling of the voice coil, thanks to improved heat dissipation
Reduction of the micro-vibrations typical of flat dust caps
Greater structural rigidity, with benefits in terms of precision and reliability
OPTIMIZED MAGNET AND VOICE COIL: the 220 mm ferrite ring in the magnet assembly is now 5 mm taller. Combined with a longer voice coil, this allows for an increase in effective Xmax and improved low-frequency extension.
OPTIMIZED GAP AND PLATES: Through FEM simulations of the magnetic circuit, a roughly 10% increase in magnetic flux was achieved. This translates to greater control over movement and an improved mechanical quality factor.
IMPROVED MAGNETIC ASSEMBLY VENTILATION: The concave dust cap, together with the longer voice coil winding, generates a more efficient pump effect, increasing the volume of air moved and improving overall cooling.
The GS Audio Platinum 4000 MK3 handles up to 2000 W RMS (D1/D2 Ohm) and features an 81 mm pure copper voice coil on an aluminum frame and a double-layer red Nomex spider with stitched tinsel. A pressed cellulose cone, a 30 mm round foam surround, and a pneumatic rubber edge ensure optimal excursion and control, while the push terminals accept cables up to 16 mm². The new concave carbon dust cap increases rigidity and heat dissipation, eliminating the micro-vibrations found in flat versions.

IMPEDANCE: Choice of dual 1 Ohm or dual 2 Ohm
RESONANCE FREQUENCY (Fs): 33–36 Hz, ideal for everyday listening (hip hop, trap, bass-heavy music). For faster music genres (techno, EDM, high BPM), we recommend reducing the width of the enclosure by approximately 5 cm to increase the enclosure’s resonance frequency by 2–3 Hz.
