The power ratings given for loudspeaker coils are for technical and comparative purposes only. The actual power handling of a loudspeaker depends on multiple factors, including:
Impedance and how it is connected to the amplifier
Frequency spectrum used and type of musical signal
Number and stiffness of spiders and the relative mechanical compliance
Magnet and coilventilation system
Total moving mass that the speaker must move
And many others...
For this reason, it is not possible to define a single, universal value of manageable power: actual performance can vary considerably depending on design and conditions of use.
