The IRON 12D2 was the first model in the IRON series, designed for entry-level car audio installations or first systems where one wants to maintain small size without sacrificing good performance in daily use.
The subwoofer uses a 175×20 mm double ferrite magnet with a total weight of about 9 kg, capable of generating a stable magnetic field and good efficiency even with moderate power amplification.
The magnetic assembly is ventilated and cooled to keep the coil in optimal operating condition during use.
At the heart of the system is a 3.2" coil with 42 mm high winding, made of pure copper, chosen to ensure precision and control at low frequencies.
The mechanical structure is designed for strength and durability:
bonding made with two-component adhesive
spider assembly screwed to the basket for greater mechanical stability
elastic rubber suspension for a perfect pneumatic seal in the box
Connections rely on 6 mm² nickel-plated brass spring clamps designed to handle high power and ensure stable electrical contact.
The subwoofer is complemented by a carbon fiber dust cover, useful for increasing cone rigidity and aiding coil cooling.
Aesthetic flaw
There is only one piece available of this product that has an aesthetic defect on the cone, visible in the product photographs.
The defect is purely cosmetic and does not affect the operation of the subwoofer.
