Gs Audio recommends in line with its Lifepo4 and LTO batteries this small and compact alternator, easy to install on lot of cars with reduced pulley and external control unit for ignition / control.

PRECONDITION: THE ALTERNATOR HAS UNIVERSAL CLAMPS WITH DOUBLE BUTTONHOLE, SO IT WILL BE NECESSARY TO MAKE SPECIFIC CLAMPS WHICH CAN BE CONNECTED TO YOUR MOTOR. IN MANY CASES WILL BE NECESSARY REPLACE THE BELT WITH A LONGER ONE

WE SUGGEST TO MAKE A SKILLED MECHANIC DO THE INSTALLATION OR DO IT AT GS AUDIO WORKSHOP

In order to avoid damage to the electrical systems of modern cars we have set the voltage regulator to 14.8 volts, higher than the classic 14 / 14.2 of many cars but below the 15v threshold to protect the original electrical system. In this way this alternator can easily replace the original one without having to separate the car audio and electrical systems

WARNING: in order to safeguard the life of the alternators, GS Audio recommends, in the case of LTO battery installation, to bring the positive cable of the alternator directly behind the trunk with a length of about 4m and an ideal section of 35mmq in pure copper or 50mmq of CCA.

We do not recommend sections with larger diameter or installation with alternator cable that goes directly `` on the LTO pack in the engine at 1 meter ''

The actual delivered current depends on the number of revolutions at the shaft and therefore also on your original pulley on the crankshaft. For example if your pulley measures about 14-15cm in diameter (classic FIAT 1200cc petrol engine) it is very likely to see delivered by the alternator at the minimum of car revolutions (about 800), a current up to 130 / 160A in the charging phase, and up to 250 with a small acceleration on 1500 RPM. For cars with diesel engines that generally have larger diameter shaft pulleys, the rpm ratio is higher, so the current delivered can be in the charging phase at 150-170A and in the musical phase with 4000rmp at the alternator shaft close to 300A. 

The alternator has a fixed regulator at 14.8 so once this voltage is reached, the current is automatically lowered in order to maintain the voltage at this value.

 

WARNING: In order to work correctly the alternator needs the direct positive and negative of the battery (engine compartment or trunk does not change) plus a mandatory positive key (2 eyelets plus yellow-green cable of the control unit). On each car it is possible to install several alternators in parallel but they must be of the same model and all connected to the same pulley for the same number of revolutions. 

 

2 INSTALLATION OPTIONS:

1-If the Gs Audio alternator replaces the original alternator you have to replace the original recharging cable of the positive with one of 35mmq copper or 50mmq cca section and leave the control plug (car wiring free), this will make the battery warning light coming on in the dashboard

2- If the Gs Audio alternator is added for example in front of the engine (with the previous cables and control unit modes), leaving the original behind the engine, it will be necessary to disconnect the battery recharge positive from the original car alternator, leaving the control plug inserted in it. This will turn off the battery warning light on the dashboard. However, under no circumstances should the large positive charging of the original alternator be left connected because 2 different alternators would cause the rapid breakdown of one of them.

The supplied pulley is 6PK so you can install belts 4PK-5PK-6PK

The control unit is supplied with an always active voltmeter installed and a button to activate or deactivate the alternator in case of need. However, with the key switch, everything will be 'automatic', you just have to leave this switch on and the alternator will work immediately after the starting of the engine.
